This morning’s post was written by David Stipanuk.  David is one of the teacher here with Vineyard Kids, as well as Professor Emeritus at Cornell’s Hotel School.  This fall, one of the churches in our area, Trinity Lutheran, is hosting a “food packing event” in September.
Here’s the note from David:

Does the idea of helping to prepare 100,000 meals to feed children in places like Haiti (and elsewhere) at a cost of under $.20 (yes, 20 cents) a meal without leaving Ithaca appeal to you?  Participate and contribute to the food “packing event” for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) on September 10 & 11.  Consider volunteering for a 2 hour shift, packing dry food.  This event is open to everyone ages 8 and up, and will be held at -Trinity Lutheran Church in Ithaca.

If you are interested, please sign up at the Feed My Starving Children display in the Vineyard Café or send an email to the Ithaca Vineyard.  If you would like to make a financial gift towards this outreach, you can place a check in the Sunday offering and simply write FMSC on the memo line (or on the offering envelope).

The video below helps provide a good background on what FMSC does & what a “food packing event” actually is.
