When we first started the Ithaca Vineyard, I went to a number of church planter training and heard over and over again about how many people you would need to talk to if you were going to plant a church.
My conversation with God, went something like this…”If you really want me to plant a church in Ithaca, you are going to have to figure something out, because there is no way I can talk to that many people I don’t know.” I’ve been called shy, introverted, but the fact is, talking to lots of people drains my energy very quickly.
At that point in time (1999) there were not too many decent web sites in Ithaca for churches (lots of flashing lights, marching ants, and other stuff that still makes me shudder when I think about the early years of the interwebs.) So, we created a web site, and for the next several years of our church, more than half of our people who came to our church came because they found us online.
Well, I have gotten a bit better over the past 12 years about talking to people (my twitch is hardly noticeable anymore:-), however, I still like playing around with website stuff. I haven’t done too much here on this site lately because I’m setting up a site to let people know about what we are planning in Dublin.
You can find it at dublinchurchplant.com (as you can see, naming websites is not a strength of mine: bob.wilson.blog & dublin church plant).
I’d love it if you’d take a look around, and let me know what you think.
